When the media is all over the social networks speaking about the Paris haute couture fashion week, I cannot but give my opinion too. The shows I was most interested in—not necessarily in the positive way—were scheduled over the fashion week from the 21st of January to the 24th.

I loved Elie Saab and Valentino’s collections most. They unveiled collections that justified their presence on the schedule of the prestigious Parisian haute couture fashion week when some brands like Bouchra Jarrar seemed better suited to ready-to-wear, (judging on her entire collection). In addition to that, Maison Martin Margiela was strongly criticized for the lack of femininity in its collection and it was a mockery of the female form, I would have liked to tell them to go play around elsewhere—not in Paris haute couture fashion week anyway. The collection was insane, but to be honest I did just like one dress, the one I mentioned here under the Stripes trend—it has creative white stripes on a background of back.

Elie Saab’s dresses are timeless; neutral colors like black, white, and nude are key to his collection adorned with beautiful detailing and floral lace. I feel like an Elie Saab dress is forever, it never goes out of fashion. On the other side, I always like to feel like a princess in a dress and I find that Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli of Valentino has revisited the Elizabethan and Victorian eras with a darker glamourous perspective .
All in all, I loved other pieces from other designers as well, here’s my best picks…
