Fashion month is this time of the year when you are making up awesome outfits in your mind to rock this coming season and anticipate the hits and trends of the season that comes after.  Well, I guess it is a bit confusing to have of both Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter in mind.  And it’s not always easy to stay up-to-date in this load of information that comes off the runways 24/7, backstage really far away from the glam and sparkles of Marc Jacobs collection for AW13. In my opinion, it is not hard to disclose the trends from the catwalk, and of course, I can already reveal some from New York fashion week—but I won’t now. It is just that the fashion doesn’t work by cities and I assume it is wrong to come up with a report trend for NY AW13, and another one for London and Paris. Of course, there might have some similarities for the shows going on in the same cities and other differences between cities, but the trends are all about the seasons. When fashion weeks of AW13 fold that’s when we can finally ascertain our dearly trend report.

Now, allow me for the starters, to tempt you in some very dainty hit items of New York AW13 fashion week! Let’s do the roundup!

I might start first with the basics of the season and then I will leave you with the most captivating stories and images!

For his collection of AW13, Derek Lam took over our closet to bring the strong elements
back in—the basics that include the casual suit, the cape, and the monochrome bags and dresses. In addition to that, we don't want to forget the classic wrapped dress of Diane Von Furstenberg.

While the sweater, the leather perfecto, the fur,  and the bomber jacket has proven their rights to feature in the basics overtime, they don’t deserve such a dull title. They are innovated and recreated every season by the designers, making them become such a work of art. Amongst all, I enjoyed Phillip Lim’s collections of the “ryder” adventurous young woman the most.

At NYFW, only two designers caught my eye for graphism: the tree leaves for the Marc by Marc Jacobs collection and undeniably the “monster”of graphism, Jeremy Scott. In addition to that, the Marc by Marc Jacobs collection captures the spirit of the 70s and 80s students wardrobe—which is pretty chic with all this groovy hair. On the other side, Jeremy Scott nodded to Punk with the hair, makeup, and zipper skirts.
