Have you tried Shake Shack in ABC Ashrafieh already?
Well, it is not much different than the one in City Centre. Actually, they even
transferred some staff to the new location in order to keep up with the same
standard quality of service—smart.
To me, a Shake Shack visit means typically that I am having the double-patty-extra-cheese Shack Burger. Last time, I thought I can change from what I usually order, and I decided to try the hot dog sandwiches. I picked the Shack-Cago dog that includes: Shack piquant sauce, onion, cucumber, pickle, tomato, sport pepper, celery salt and mustard. A different hotdog than the ones I got used to, (hotdog, cheese, mustard, ketchup, and crispy fries), which you can call a risk, but it's go hard or go home. One bite and I’m surprised: the pickle was not cheap (yeah I actually have issues with pickles) and the sport pepper was just mildly hot. Overall, I did appreciate this version of a Hotdog sandwich, I can have it again.
But I was still hungry! The hotdog didn’t fill me up
as much as the double patty burger would. I didn’t mind having a frozen custard
(or concrete). The very first time I tried it, I fell in love with it; I picked
a vanilla flavored strawberry sauced ice cream with a Pistachio baklava (Lebanese
sweet), the Beirut version of a Shake Shack concrete—heavenly.
My sister and I decided to share two frozen custards to be
able to try different flavors: the strawberry Banana and the chocolate fudge.
The mistake was to have anticipated the still-hungry situation and ordered the
ice cream along with the hot dog and the fries. Don’t do that, ours melted. If
you wouldn’t feel like getting up in the middle of your lunch/dinner, then
consider asking the staff to prepare it for you after what, like 15-20 minutes
that you have taken your main dish by the time you can finish it.
The strawberry and banana concrete... I'm
mouthwatering just by the thought of it. The banana ice cream flavor really
tasted natural, it also had pieces of banana and swirls of strawberry sauce—why
did you make me talk about it? I need this, like Right Now. The chocolate fudge
was good, just good, because I'm not much of a chocolaty type of person for
desserts. I enjoy chocolate the most being in its purest form. Yet, I can think
of a few people who would crave the chocolate fudge instead of something
vanilla, strawberry, or banana. Luckily, there are enough concretes at Shake
Shack to make everyone happy!
And I forgot to say that the french fries are better now, as in crunchier. |
Yumyumyum the strawberry-banana concrete! |
