Launching of Beirut Design Week 2014

Finally the third edition of Beirut Design Week is here! I am looking forward to the exhibitions and workshops that go along with my personal interests; haha I want to be everywhere—my week is so packed, I hope my friends will understand. Yesterday, I was at Saifi Village for the launching event. Although fewer shops were throwing out a party relatively to last year, Nada Debs and Plastik raised the bar with entertainment—I’m not going to say anything, you’ve got to check them out. Johnny Farah cancelled their belt-making workshop sadly! For this year, I saw a trend in switching from fashion design to more of landscape and interior design and you can see that at El Bokha, this year it was all about table setting and furniture. In addition, I was surprised with ALBA (Academie Libanaise des Beaux Arts, Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts) talks and workshops.

At Starch, by Jo Baaklini. (I asked and he confirmed that he is inspired by "Au Jour le Jour" brand.
These are shorts for Men! The women's version are less flamboyant though.

Hang on, there will be much more to come!
